Structural coatings are a specialty item that Jason Moorhouse introduced to the mix in 2001. The use of PPG amerlock on the first roller coaster set the stage for structural steel painting. Later we started painting structural steel for hangars and Aircraft Testing facilities. After painting numerous high-rise buildings in 1995 it was easy to transition to bosun chairs and aerial work. Amusement park rides seemed to be a natural segway from high-rise work. Most of the structural steel painted today is associated with intumescent coatings and Structural steel exposed to the environment in new and existing multi-story buildings. Radar stations, towers and tanks also require a great deal of extensive knowledge.

A large shout out to PSX ppg’s ultra-durable amercoat primer and topcoat. It’s the only epoxy that is uv resistant that can be topcoated again without a tie primer or mechanical preparation in the future.
